Explore various themes inspired by history or the local environment every other Wednesday through the spring and fall.  Activities may include story-telling, crafts, songs, and outdoor exploration.  This week's theme is Mother Goose-Puss in Boots.  Mother Goose joins us to tell the classic stories that have been passed down from generation to generation.  Visit the Plantation to see objects mentioned in these early stories.   3/21

Saturday, March 24 - Maryland Day

Celebrate Maryland's founding where the state began 378 years ago.  Special progams throughout the day.  1PM join dignitaries near the Visitor Center (18751 Hogaboom Lane)  HSMC honors the indigenous people of the region who helped the first English settlers thrive ... The Piscataway Indian Nation and the Piscataway Conoy Tribe.  The day ends with a Ceremony of the Flags, featuring 4th graders parading colors from all over Maryland. 3/24

The MOMS Club of Mechanicsville is a support group for stay-at-home moms, including those with home-based businesses and those who work part-time but are home with their kids for some portion of the day.  Meetings are followed by a pot luck lunch.   Children are always welcome! 3/20

Wednesday, March 21 - iMoms Workshops

These classes are for tweens and teens who love acting or are interested in exploring acting in greater depth.  Kids will hone auditioning and character development skills while doing scenework, improvisation, physicality and more.

Tuesday, March 20 - Young Life Club Night

Young Life Club is an experiment in controlled chaos for high school students.  Join them on Tuesday nights from 7:37 - 9:05pm and have a blast while also talking about the real issues of life and faith.  Any high school age teen is welcome to come. Please note the NEW LOCATION.

TAG meets each month in all three County libraries.  It's a great place for teens to make new friends and hang out, enjoy snacks, chat up books, play Wii or fun teen library activities, and earn community service hours.

“Saving Squeak: The Otter Tale”  ... Annapolis resident, Jennifer Keats Curtis has masterfully woven a tale that teaches children the importance of rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife while delighting the reader with details about Calvert Marine Museum's own otter, Squeak.
